Emergency Light Testing

Landlec: Registered & competent electrical contractors

Emergency lighting installation is a legal requirement for all commercial premises in the UK, as well as public buildings, multistorey dwellings, hospitals and schools.

Homeowner properties do not legally have to have emergency lighting in place, but blocks of flats, houses of multiple occupation and shared apartment buildings typically do.

Emergency lighting systems must also be kept fully functional at all times, with regular testing carried out – again, a legal requirement.

This is something that the Landlec team is perfectly placed to provide, working with commercial clients (including landlords and property management companies) across Berkshire to carry out emergency lighting testing, ensuring that systems remain fit for purpose.

Our service provision includes testing of escape routes and open area lighting, high-risk area lighting, safety lighting and non-maintained lighting.

Maintaining effective emergency lighting systems is essential to ensure the safe evacuation of building occupants should an incident take place.

With over 15 years of experience in the industry, we provide expert and accredited emergency light testing and maintenance throughout the Home Counties.

Systems are thoroughly inspected and any repairs or replacements carried out efficiently and as cost-effectively as possible, ensuring that safe and compliant work areas are maintained.

Detailed records and compliance certificates are provided once the testing process is complete, with all inspections and results logged.

Visual Inspections & Functionality Checks

Detailed visual inspections and functionality checks are carried out to ensure all systems are working correctly, with prompt fault identification carried out and immediate part replacements or repairs made wherever possible.

In-Depth Testing

Once visual checks are complete, we delve deeper, carrying out battery duration and load testing on all emergency lights, as well as switch simulations and power supply failure testing. Simulated outages are conducted to reveal any vulnerable areas.
