Consumer Units

Landlec: Trusted & professional electrical engineers

Consumer units (also known as fuse boxes, fuse boards or distribution boards) serve as the central control hub for the electrical system of your property, distributing power throughout the site. As such, they need to be kept in good working order if the lights are to stay on.

As electrical contractors serving the wider Berkshire area for the last 15 years, Landlec can help you with all consumer unit installations, upgrades and repairs, for both domestic and commercial properties.

We ensure that all units operate in full compliance with BS 7671, the national standard for wiring and electrical installations.

It is essential that a registered electrician carries out any work relating to the installation, replacement and repairs of consumer units, as this is considered notifiable work under Part P of Building Regulations in England and Wales.

As a team of competent and registered electricians, we work to ensure that all consumer units are operating in full compliance with the law.

Note that if you install or replace a consumer unit without it being approved by the relevant authorities, it will likely be an illegal installation.

Rest assured that we are registered with and approved by the NAPIT, so all work is carried out in full compliance with all relevant electrical regulations.

We can work on all consumer units, including RCD main switch, dual RCD, high-integrity units, high-integrity split load units and duplex units.

Our Process

Get in Touch

Book an appointment with a Landlec electrician either online, using our contact form, or over the phone on 07724209879. Alternatively, you can email hello@landlec.co.uk and a member of the team will be in touch. We’re available for emergency callouts 24/7, as well as standard work.

Visual Inspections & Functionality Checks

One of our engineers will carry out an in-depth inspection of your existing electrical installation to identify any weak or vulnerable areas, providing you with a comprehensive overview and recommended solutions.

In-Depth Testing

Once we know what’s wrong, we can either remove and replace the old consumer unit or carry out minor repairs as appropriate. All circuits will then be fully tested and an electrical installation certificate issued for compliance and peace of mind.
